I bought 500 from flukers ones NEVER AGAIN they packaged it all wrong so my mom took the package from a dude while i was out of state for the day and i got home they were crawling out of the box and my mom just took them and set them down after that I switched from turkey/deer/smallgame hunter to a cricket hunter :main_rolleyes::main_angry::main_angry::main_angry::main_thumbsdown:

Here's the other side of the story: I get 1000 or 2000 every 2 weeks or so. I have the transfer down so I don't lose any. I like the outdoors sound that fills my house and the smell is really not that bad given how I keep them.

I usually buy 1000 a month.

I keep them in two separate bins (I think 28 liter, not sure) with two levels of egg crates in each. I try to separate it so I have (what looks like) 500 in each bin. I've found this really helps keep them alive the longest. No over crowding.

I also throw in an empty paper towel roll, so I just pick that up and shake it into my feeding container, so there's no escapes and no mayhem trying to round up enough crickets.

I usually get mine from reptile food. No problems so far! But it is definitely a PIA.

Mine prefer supers to crix (bless them!) but I'm working toward switching them to mealies. I'm going to sell my veiled chameleon so there will no longer be a need to order 1000 crix. We can pick up 100 at a show 8 out of 12 months a year for a treat. I'm over the big tub of crickets. :freak:

I was going to buy supers, but my local pet store forgot to place the order O.O Its a mom and pop kind of place, and I have been going there since before they owned it lol I always get good deals from them =P They always place orders for the odds and ends stuff I dont want to bother with so I let it slip (lol) I got 100o crix for 1/3 the price for the mishap. My mealie colony is not producing like it use to so I had to supplement.

Tony-

I use to but 12,000 crix a month.
