I can't stand this employer!

Well, I've been working for the same company now for 4 years. I make minimum wage and I'm one of the best employees at my work. Well, I've had this problem once but it was caught. I went to deposit my paycheck and the bank said the check was bad and I would have to deposit it another time...well Friday, I went and deposited my check at 9AM when the bank opened. They said it would post that day and everything was fine and dandy. Well, when the check went to go through that night, there was no money in her account so the check bounced. But for some reason the automated system said we had money in our account over the weekend but apparently, the check was caught as bad today. Now Matt and I have all of these overdrafts, and a bad check fee, and she still owes me my paycheck! I called her tonight and left a voicemail on her phone. I'm pretty ticked. As of now, she owes me $480.04 but it could be more because some of the charges from the weekend haven't gone through yet. I'm pretty ticked off. I can't wait to get a real job.

What would I do? I like her, I just can't stand what happened! It really upsets me. And multiple times, I've had to wait over the weekend and sometimes up to 6 days to deposit my paycheck.

It sounds as if this is a fairly informal business. Maybe you could see if she could pay you in cash if it happens again.

Actually if your really pissed then take it to your local prosecutor. Any bad check can be taken there and they can be charged with a misdemeanor. Here if its over 500 then it a felony. They have a certain amount of time to pay it off or charges will be filed! Of course you may not have a job after that but its something that you can do if you don't get payed.

well, with the overdraft charges to our account, it's well over $500.00 as of now. I talked to her and she said that she checked her account and the lowest amount of money she had all weekend was $380.00. She also said she made a $1500.00 deposit into her account today. So she's going to the bank tomorrow to see what happened. The business is a local business but it's not informal. They do all the stuff a regular employer does...except for bounce checks. *rolls eyes*

Oh no.. That sucks. I had that happen before with a Coffee Shop that Tamara and I used to work at. It worked out in the end.. But we had to really nag them about it. Keep good records of what happened. Ask your bank for a print out from the time of the deposit.. And.. Until your account goes into the positive.

Sorry this happened. Hope it gets figured out ASAP!

It was the banks fault! We went in yesterday and the stupid banks system messed up. Needless to say they rufunded all the fees.
