Just when we thought our season was over for a while we had a female decide to lay a single fertile egg after the incubators were turned off. We cranked one back up and set it at 88F. Two weeks later we found out that Hurricane Ike was heading straight for us. I started slowly lowering the temperature in preparation of losing power. I didn't expect for the power to be out for almost 2 weeks! Hoping that the egg might still be viable after 12 days of going from 65-78F I turned the incubator back on and gradually got it up to 85F. This morning I was checking on some Crested Gecko eggs and found this cutie in the incubator. I was shocked that it's so perfect after all of the temperature fluctuation!
