Well, I wasn't going to post this, but I can't resist any longer. I just saw a post by Ray and it reminded me of his "Monster Egg". I'm calling mine, the "Baked Potato" Egg. It reminds me of one!

These two eggs are clutchmates that are due to hatch in about 10-12 days. The little egg weighs 4.8 grams and the baked potato egg WEIGHS 10 GRAMS! The "little" egg actually is pretty large for the mother of these. She normally lays pretty small eggs. I actually didn't think the big egg was going to make it when it was laid because it had a huge dent in the top that took over a week to pop out. I'm glad I was patient! I can't wait to see the size of what's in there! I had it in a GEO and it damn near popped the top off! I had to move it into it's own deli cup so it had room to "grow" some more, so I decided to take a couple of pics since I was moving it anyways. I put the cork next to it, for size comparison. This thing is MASSIVE!! I'm hoping there's gonna be something special inside! :D

Thanks for looking.

I have a friend who always jokes with me about my hobby....he always asks me what i'd do if I hatched a Komodo Dragon from one of my leopard gecko eggs...Well, maybe now you can actually answer that question! ;)

Thanks for posting...looking foreward to seeing what comes out of there.

Wow. A real raptor. lol. Better be something sweet in there, or at least a monster or we'll all be dissapointed!

As long as there's 1 healthy baby inside, I'm good.

Let's see if you can get just as many answers on your thread as Ray did! :D Good luck with your monster baby :main_laugh:

Chrissy

Let's hope not!!! LOL!

I have that happen once in a while, and this past year had that happen alot. Its like the egg takes on more fluids than normal and swells huge- 3 or 4 times normal size- but a normal sized gecko hatches out every time with alot of excess egg fluids.... I too used to hope for really big babies but out of maybe two dozen 'xlarge' eggs this year all were normal size.

Like I said, I just hope it's a nice healthy baby, not expecting anything out of the ordinary. I just thought it was a cool looking egg and the fact that it was dented and I almost tossed it....well, I thought it was kinda cool.

Matt, if you've had 24 eggs like this, you either have way too much water in the deli cups or your breeding a crapload of geckos because eggs this big arent very common. I use GEOs and all eggs in this cup were perfectly normal except this one. Do you put your eggs directly in the substrate? I'm curious. I know that these monsters pop up once in a while but to have as many as you had, I'm wondering whats going on!
