(My?) Geckos on Animal Planet

The new Animal Planet series "Pets 101" is finally starting and one of the 2 first episodes is "small pets" with a segment about geckos. Its first showing in the Boston area, at least, is tomorrow, 12/11 at 9pm. The production company spent 2 evenings in my house last May shooting background, so I hope some of my geckos will have their debut. Unfortunately I'll be out of town but I'll tape it.

Cool! It seems like animal planet just makes shows about cats and dogs nowadays, so I'm definitely going to watch it!

I just checked on our schedule, they're showing "Cats 101" episode 1 starting December. Think "Pets 101" will come after that.

Animal Planet will have show thats not about animals killing people!!??? lol I certainly miss the old animal planet that use to have shows that were educational...its all about ratings now.. However, Im glad you have an opportunity to show off your geckos to the world!!

In the last few years It's either animals killing people (World's most deadly blank) or people treating animals like $*** (Animal cops, etc). I'm glad they're doing something more than the normal Cats, dogs and horses. They should do an entire thing with reptiles as pets. It could have so many episodes! Snakes, Lizards, turtles, frogs, different species of such, popular herps, exotic rare herps, what not to keep (crocodillians), Large snakes, etc. I think they can make 13 to 24 episodes of that.

When was that?

The only remotely educational show I can ever remember them airing was Mark O'Shea and they cancelled him quick when they figured out he wasn't going to leap around while shouting misinformation at the top of his lungs and mishandling animals.

It was nice to see reptiles being portrayed as normal pets on Animal Planet, not dangerous man-eaters or companions for only "weird" people. Animal Planet has gone soooo far downhill in recent years.
