New members with hundreds of posts

You know I have been on GF for over a year now and have roughly 450 post so far. I get on almost everyday but don't generally post everytime I am on here. If I see something that interest me or see a gecko that really caught my eye then I will comment on them. I not the kind of member who wants to comment on everything under the sun.

What really gets under my skin is the number of "NEW" members who wants to post single word comments like "nice" or "great" on every thread that people post. I just don't see how every thread can be so great and interesting that it is worth posting. Also these are the same people that want to "agree" with the other 10 people who have posted the same thing as the first one. I guess that these people want to feel like they are important and want to feel like they are knowledgable even though sometimes they are the ones that give the worst information that is just totally incorrect.

Now this does not pertain to the people who comment alot with great information and comment on things that are interesting or on topics that need more or the correct information. There are many people on here who post regularly and have great comments on geckos that are amazing and cool looking. They also are the people who are knowledge and give advice that help people.

I am sure that I am letting this get to me when it probably shouldn't. I understand that they are a part of this community but it just gets to me. The same people are on every thread whether or not they have anything new to say or have information that is helpfull.

I know that this may not bother as many people as me but just had to say it even thought its not such a bad thing that they are a part of the GF community. Well theres my useless rant!

The +1 thing is really irritating to me as well. Don't bring text messaging jargon to the forums please. If you can't be bothered to type a whole word or at least a sentence, then don't bother posting. It certainly doesn't add anything to the conversation, other than people have to scroll through pages of +1s before they actually get to meaningful posts.

Oh yes, its alright for the first person to do it but the next 20 become annoying as heck!:main_laugh:

yes but almost all my posts have more then one word many actually are questions that i wanted to ask ive commented on mabe 3 photos and actually placed a full sentence

the other think that bothers me is the fact people say go read a book or google it and find your answer that way well if we all did that there would be no point to having fourms

that has been my point! i even asked Gaz to quit it and why. it is slowly spreading, in the last week i have seen two or three newbs use the term

it's just one more thing for people to get confused about, as if there is not enough to get confused about as it is.

I remember when I first saw it used, it confused me! I was like what the heck is a talbino. Doesn't take long if you put 2 and 2 together but it aggrivates me everytime i see it. To me it means that people are too lazy to actually type it out. If your on the internet as much as some people are then i'd say you have more time to type it out them you think. But hey people are becoming more and more lazy in america. Why do you think we have so many fat people around. They could eat what ever they want and actually do something physical and then they wouldn't have to worry about being so fat.
