Of course we enjoy the website, Kelli! And for the most part, any complaints (such as this) are minor. It's just the le3t speak that drives me nuts. ;-)

Maybe its because those other 300 hundred don't have anything else to add to the thread that hasn't been already said or arn't interested after viewing it to comment. You have to open the thread in order to see what is in it. You can just get everything from viewing the title.

Not everything that people post is great or worth wow or awesome.

There are alot of new members that are a positive influence on GF and that ask questions and have made positive comments that has added to the thread. Thats wonderfull if they do that. I like new members that add to the thread but many people don't and will say the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Gets alittle annoying huh?

I see that its the people that have been here for very little and have alot of posts that disagree with this topic. Not saying you don't add to GF but some of the others don't. Just because you are new and have alot of post doesn't mean that this topic is about you what so ever!

I can agree with that, but have some compassion and understanding that the person posting might think their questions/geckos/statement is great or worth wow or awesome and it would make them happy for someone to agree. Not saying blindly agree with everyone but find that silver lining, what harm does it do to answer a question or tell someone their geckos are looking good? Now ask yourself the harm in not answering questions and ignoring people's posts. Not taking two seconds out of your day to humor someone because it's not a worthy post in your opinion is not really contributing either.

This site is the most awesome site for geckos I have ever been on and Iam a type of person that might only say one or two things but alot of times I like to make a very long message lol. And alot of pepole don't like it when someone like me write's a long story about the post lol and alot of pepole come on here and sometimes not really sure what they want to say ya know what I mean? All I have to say is I really love this site and no other site would get me to come back.

If you want to think that then go ahead and keep saying wow all the time. If I thought that then I would be saying wow every other minute. I know that many things I have said on this forum people don't agree with and thats perfectly fine with me. Many people don't care for me cause of my opinions towards certain things and it doesn't bother me what so ever. I don't get emotional or sensitive because of it. I still am a member of GF and will always be because I like GF because of the people, informations, and other various things! I will continue to be a part of GF until the day I can't stand it but I don't see that happening. As long as I get enjoyment off it and follow the TOS then I am here to stay!:main_thumbsup:

That may be your opinion, but who are you to crap on someone else's geckos just because they aren't up to your standards? If you only care about high dollar show off animals, and can't appreciate a perfectly good pet that someone enjoys and wants to share, then you need to take a step back and rethink why you are in this hobby.

Commenting is the internet hype of the last few years. You see it on youtube and a website as Facebook thrives on it. They make it very easy for people to leave comments to stuff (same for this website with the quick reply function)

I think it will decline eventually, which doesn't mean that it shouldn't be addressed.
If I compare it to Blogspot.com, it is quite a hassle to comment on someone's blog, you need to ID yourself and then copy a code which keeps people from commenting, unless they really have to offer something.

In the end this is a forum, which is a substitute for face-to-face communication. In real life people say all kinds of useless stuff in conversations (you basically say +1 when you say 'yes' or 'right' in a conversation, count how often that is )
As soon as it becomes a pain to read a topic because of an overload on useless comments (where spelling errors are my pet peeve) you could always send the specific person a private message, asking why he or she comments on certain things.

I'm at a stage where I learn about reptile care, therefore I read the majority of topics on here and will comment when I have a question, an addition or when my mind brings me to a point where some jokes rise to the surface.

Final sentence: Often it's the people that come on here less that find it a pain because it makes it really hard to keep up with the topics when there are so many new posts. That's been my experience, moderating another forum. I understand that and have felt the same, but then I realize that I won't die when I miss a bunch of topics on here for a few days

You didn't really address what I said, nowhere did I say that everything is worth a wow or great, nor did I say I want to continue saying it all the time. What I said is it wouldn't kill you to compliment a normal leo or answer a weird question from time to time instead of sitting there scoffing at it.

I think it feels good to take a big crap sometimes, lol! If i don't comment so how does that mean I crap on there gecko? I mean thats gonna be one stinky gecko if you can see em through all the crap! I usually dump big loads. Who says I don't appreciate a pet gecko? I love every single living creature. I probably enjoy nature more then alot of people in the world! Have you gone over every single one of my posts? I believe I have commented on people showing of their normal geckos and others too. I just haven't said just wow and actually say alittle more. To me it is more meaningful to compliment less and say more then it is to compliment more and say less! Like someone said before its not really the quantity but the quality! Don't get your panties in a wad! I kid I kid!
