New members with hundreds of posts

But hey people are becoming more and more lazy in america. Why do you think we have so many fat people around. They could eat what ever they want and actually do something physical and then they wouldn't have to worry about being so fat.

Oh I know what ya mean Robin but there are quite a few that are. In my profession, as a bail bondsman, I see 75% of them being on disability and SSI! Its outragious how many people are on those and are perfectly capable of working. Maybe we should overhall that instead of the health insurance and actually might come out of this huge deficit we have here in America. We waste so much money on it and just incourage people to be more lazy.

I think that we are all trying to mess with each other on this topic, lol! :main_laugh: Which is good that we all can and have fun! I know I have posted things that people find annoying but we won't go there, lol!

In my opinion quality posts are better then quanity. Something that bothers me is, if the question has been answered numerous times, there really is no need for you too repeat exactly what has been said.

It does bother me that some people have 1,000 + posts and they have only been a member for a couple months. Especially if they bring up a lot of old topics that are atleast a year old..

I agree. There IS a search function. But I must admit, sometimes the search function is a little difficult to use and doesn't always find what you're looking for even when it's out there. There's always the alternative... *cough cough* Google *cough*. :main_rolleyes:

The one word posts are and "talbino" are pretty annoying, too. What's next, "balbino" and "ralbino"? Let us continue to politely frown upon these posting habits.

Exactly! I don't mind if people have been here for a very short time and post alot but its when the post are repeating, off the wall, or just plan wrong!

There's a big difference between you and others that have several hundred post and been here for a month or two. Your post are generally very helpfull or you like to mess around and joke. I have found myself laughing several times at your post because they are funny. We may have different views about some topics but I believe you are a very postive influence on GF! You have helped many people with problems and questions! Now don't get a big head now, lol!:main_laugh:

Look at it this way, at least the person saying simple phrases like "great" or "nice leo" are putting in effort, which is more than can be said for the 300 other people that view the thread and don't say ANYTHING. I'd rather know what's on people's minds whether it be correct, incorrect, simple phrase or complex, positive or negative(though I prefer positive) because it's better than a bunch of lurking, or feeling uncomfortable commenting because you are "new". There are people that could have been here since the beginning and know less than new members-- so the length of time someone has been a member is not a good measure of their ability to contribute.

Also if we all just commented only on the "cool" posts this would not be a community, it would be the "cool kids club" so lets just support each other and live and let live. :main_cool3:

so, I have only been a member since June of 09 and I have over 1000 posts... So what? I have a lot to say! I also work overnight shifts at my job, and there is usually nothing to do but surf the web anyways, so that is why I am ALWAYS on here. I read all the posts that I can, and I usually comment... I didnt think that was a big deal.

I dont know why someone's number of posts would bother you??? I just dont get it.
There is a specific new person on here who has only been here for a few months and has ALOT of new posts, but he contributes very useful information and usually only posts on relevant things...

Also, when I start a thread in show off your leos, and read back on what people have posted in my thread.. all the one word comments like "nice" and "great" actually make me happy to see that that is what people really think of my leos. I would hope that people think my leos are nice because I put a lot of effort in picking out the ones that I really like.
So, when I post "Very nice!" or "wow" in someone else's thread, I mean it! Sometimes I will write at least a sentence if the leo has really caught my eye, but most of the time I think that small compliments really sum up how I view them..
But, I just dont see what people's number of posts really matter.
So some people dont have a life and want to spend all their time on this site just like me! =] I think its cool.

Maybe its because those other 300 hundred don't have anything else to add to the thread that hasn't been already said or arn't interested after viewing it to comment. You have to open the thread in order to see what is in it. You can just get everything from viewing the title.

There are alot of new members that are a positive influence on GF and that ask questions and have made positive comments that has added to the thread. Thats wonderfull if they do that. you can tell people to google all you want, however this is a forum where people ask questions no matterf how big or small. so what if it has been asked 100 times before? never get too big for your britches that you have to stop answering beginners questions and only want to talk about more advanced topics. if you ever think you know it all, then you need to get out of the hobby. if you feel like you want more stimulating advanced conversations, then start a thread on such topics

You are so correct, Robin! It only gets annoying when someone asks a question that has just been answered two seconds ago in the post below it. Otherwise, I dont mind answering newb questions all day long! I feel very helpful when I can contribute to someone who just got a leo, or someone just asking a simple question. I never mind answering, it makes me feel good =] And that is what we are here for!

Omg, please please please please dont be afraid to post just because of something that someone said! People, you will not get yelled at, banned, laughed at or anything for posting simple things!!!! Post , post away! That is what the forum is all about!!!
I love this forum and I really like having new people join and post and ask questions, I think it is fun =] geez, I hope this thread really doesnt scare people!

I can't see in this thread where i said i don't like people to post questions, comments, or anything else what so ever! I just find it annoying when people seem to post dozens of useless comments a day. I love to read new post and comments that people leave and could never tell someone to quit posting. There are many newbies that are great influences on GF but there are also some that are rather annoying with useless, repeating posts that provide nothing but crap!

this is my take on the postings when you post alot you member stats go up from being a member to senior member and so forth thus when there is a person just saying great or +1 all these posts count then say a brand new member comes along and asks a question and that member that has posted so many times says something totaly wrong but that new member is going to beleive it cus of the number of posts that member has done
