Just to add to this thread, below is a photo of an ovulating female. You can see the pink colored circular shape in the abdominal area? That's a sure sign of ovulation and the right time to introduce your female to a male.
It's usually more pink that white, but yes. It's usually around the size of the eraser on a pencil.

This thread is SO helpful. I'm trying to start my first season of breeding, but it's really hard for my to tell if my girls are ovulating/gravid. They really hate being pulled up like that and being turned over and their stomach skin is too thick for me to tell... How do I get them used to that type of handling?
