My gecko hasnt eaten for over a week and a half and today his belly loooks almost bloated. I saw some moss in one of his poos, it must have come from the moist hide. Hany thoughts?

Sounds like he or she may be impacted with the moss if I were you I would take the moss out and replace it with moist paper towel and also soake him in some warm water 2 a day and hopefully he or she will pass the moss with no problem,Good Luck

Are you sure its a boy? This is kinda off subject but sometimes females will go on hunger strikes when they are ovulating (just for future knowlegde).

But for your impaction prediction, I'd say you should take him to the vet very, VERY quickly!! I feel so sorry for you:( & I hope he gets better, SOON!!:)

I can tell that its not ovulating because its too young to be ovulating. And im pretty sure its impaction because its belly is almost all black.

i have read that you can use liquid paraffin as a natural laxative for reptiles that are impacted. has anyone used it befor?

Yes, please take him to a vet. This poor thing has been bloated and in pain now for 10 days, and that's pretty cruel. Just take him to a vet and see what they tell you, probably a professional can take care of this in no time.

if he looks bloated it could either be impaction or worst, parasites! check in with your vet and bring in 2 stool samples (his/her poop)
