I use slate, paper towel and reptile carpet. I am currently switching to ceramic tile and slate, but I put a piece of paper towel down where they poop. Since they always go in the same spot, it is easy to keep it clean.

I use paper towel, beta-chips (fully digestable wood chips), coco mulch
I have used repti-carpet, sand(didn`t like), and excavator which is much better then the normal sand (it hardeneds)before.

more options would of been better

Ceramic tile and repti-carpet, however im ditching the carpet and sticking with the ceramic, the two tiles i got are similar in colour and pattern to sand and theyre cheap and easy to clean.

The self sticking vinyl tiles can be toxic when they heat up. We didn't know this and used some ( no geckos were in the tank at the time) one time. We noticed a horrible smell in our room and both had a headach. We figured out it was the glue on the tiles being heated up by the UTH. The Dr. at the ER said that it could have been toxic if we kept breathing the fumes.

Yikes!! That is scary - not just for the Gecko, but for you! This is a very timely post for me, as I'm scouring the boards for information while I plan out my new Gecko Enclosure - and Vinyl sticky tiles were on my list.

To answer the poll - paper towels and probably slate when I make my new enclosure.

well lets see.. we have paper towels in 2 tanks... ceramic tile in 1, and repti carpet in 5... sometimes news paper too...

well then you should be able to judge which is best, currently i have paper towel in mine. I was thinking Repti carpet in my tokay tank, and slate or ceramic tile in my leo tank in the near future.
