Yikes
You sure get a lot of snow up there
I love your house-it's really pretty sitting in all of that snow
:main_yes:

I would love to move to New Mexico- Ariz. or somewhere hot like that where I can just complain about the heat all year long

Yes, move to Cali! California is fun and warm, and not every part is expensive. There are many parts of San Diego County that are still reasonable and the area is beautiful. Good luck with your home search!

Don't forget Denver - some snow but it always melts within days, and more than 300+ days of sunshine a year...excellent job market, and there's several places around there that're still affordable. You can't beat the semi-arid climate and the outdoor activities.

Any time I hear anything about Austin, TX, it's that people love it. We had friends that lived there, too. Very cool place!

Wow, thanks for all the input guys. I've pretty much narrowed it down to either CA or TX, but it will take me a while to do the investigating I need to do. That, and this whole thing is really requiring me to weigh my priorities, which apparently is something I've never really done before. lol

Hopefully I'll have some time to do some "exploring" this spring/summer.

Feel free to come explore Kansas City (preferably in May at the reptile show :D ).

3 votes for Texas, only 2 for California? Marcia, we need your vote!! ;) Great pictures, Nicole - I wanna live there!

It is expensive here, no doubt about that. Cooler (and drier) than I like in the summer as well. But this time of year when we are experiencing 50s & 60s instead of sub-zero I sure do like it! :)

Let me know if you'll be touring California this summer!

I hear you Paul, this ole Southern boy is working on getting out of here as well. I am actually looking at either going back to TN, the Carolinas, TX or really just about anywhere. I am talking to a firm about a position in Tampa, FL in a couple of weeks and another firm about a Regional Management position in Honolulu, now that I could handle for a few years.

Good luck on getting out of here and if you are looking for a great school. University of Alabama down in Tuscaloosa is a great place in a nice warm town. Roll Tide!!!!

Well, Im gonna vote for California, of course! I'm anxiously awaiting Paul's visit so I can convince him to come out here for good. Besides, I'm going to need someone to take over Golden Gate Geckos someday!

There is less seismic activity in Texas than Cali... ;) Either sounds good, have fun home searching Paul. I don't mind the snow or the cold, granted its not as bad here as it is where you are.

Hey Paul,

Why don't you like Florida? We moved here a year ago from Michigan. I LOVE it here. It's 72 outside right now. I HATE cold and snow!
I wouldn't mind Florida's climate, although it's a little more humid and a little more hurricaney than I'd like. But it's other factors that have Florida on the "no" list for me.

Paul, Texas and California are nice, but a little extreme, don't you think. How about moving south to say...Janesville? The weather down here is glorious!
