First of all I think you need to prove her out, and then proceed with whatever else you need to do to PROVE THEIR GENETICS OUT! Even though it is reproducible, someone(Whether its you or somebody else) needs to breed it to something with a clean slate (Maybe a subspecies like a Fasciolatus or an Afghanicus) ;)

I totally agree! :) Start from the beginning.

Just remember that pure Afghanicus often have their own tendency to dark/ black.
If you use Afghanicus, it will be harder to tell if the darkness in the hatchlings come from the BP or the Afghanicus influence..

If you want to proove the genetics out, I would recommend to use fascios or wildtype macularius, just to be sure:main_thumbsup:...

The other suggestions made sound great. But what I would like to see is a bold jungle patterned snow introduced. I think the bold patterns of the snow would help make a darker contrast to the already dark BP. Perhaps a Bold snow het raptor that way if you want to work on the red eyes later on it wouldnt be that far a step to do so.. Could you imagine it with solid black eyes though?

i'm just going to throw in my 2 cents and repeat what a lot of people said, enigma eyes would look great on the dark skin, hope we get updates whenever she's old enough to breed...

Honestly I would go with a super snow. But not just any super snow. Ive got a super snow albino and a super snow het raptor. Both have very bold dark dots. On the super snow albino, her dots connect and almost make a complete pattern. With enough line breeding in snows like that it is possible to get super snows with a solid black back pattern and white under half. I think that breeding the black pearl gene into a line like that would only improve it.

I would first clean it up with a dark blizzard the first yr. Get the base as solid as you can. 2nd yr to a mack snow or ss to reduce the yellow. Then breed to the bell enigma to open it up and create something truly unique with a great solid black base bred for two gen. Along the way, keep best of trio's from each year to create more options to acheive the most solid black color possible. But that's just one opinion. Good luck, and let us know.

i think a black pearl is a great looking gecko on its own and i wish i had the 3 k just to own one but if i was to breed it i would like to see one with very nice eyes mabe like the diablo blancos eyes that would be sweet looking gecko all black with red eyes

i keep crossing my fingers that i win the lottery to buy one or 2 of the black pearls ive been to 2 reptile expos waiting to see them and urban gecko keeps say next time they will be bringing them

I say dark normal. Het for NOTHING. I would try to keep the line as pure as possible and establish a good base group of pure pearls before adding anything to the mix.

I would try to keep it dark as well. Don't want to white it out year 1 because Black leos are extremely rare and you could make a killer line off them.
