correct and it's attached to the iris and covered by the cornia. Behind that is a hollow area filled with vitreous fluid and the light travels through it and focuses on the retina ;)

I have a proven mack raptor who started out with snake eyes in the back like that and faded. He threw all normal pupils of typical eclipse trait eyes . I also have a proven tremper het eclipse who's eyes started like this.. no ill effecxts when both were bred together.

I doubt Pat was serious , as we had a discussion about genetic flaws yesterday. Nearly every morph is a genetic flaw we bred to reproduce.

This animal is from a eclipse project, so is either het or homozygous eclipse. Eclipse eyes looked freaky when first produced, "marble" eyes look odd in RW animals, and the eye trait A&M has looks odd also. Why would pupils in the back of the eye be different?

BTW, those are images of the pupils closed down, they are 95% solid in subdued lighting ;)

Paul... Interesting Tid Bits on the breedings. I would like to see eye shots of the other animals you are talking about are the Pupils located int he center of the eyes or the Back Like this animals?

Because the Pupil is supposed to be in the center of the eye.

Non of the other eye traits look that odd to me Because on close inspection you can see the pupil in the center of the eye. The Eclipse trait just makes it look as though they are in an odd location some time. RW and Marble as well. The eye is perfectly Normal besides color.

I would compare your animal to a person with Severe Crossed eyes, or severe Lazy eye. While they can see and function it's difficult. Plus most people get surgery to correct this problem as well. I would think it would not be any different in a reptile???

Not to mention another thread that got closed but people disagreed heavily with the Curly Tail Morph. I see the Pupil being set back in the eye that far as defect as well maybe not as extreme( Who knows) but a defect either way. But not a person has said a thing, but it's cool???

BTW I would not breed the Culy tails either.

I think there is a difference between a genetic mutation and a Genetic Defect. JMO

All of this is just my Opinion. So take it with a grain of Salt.

That is very weird looking! Pretty cool though. I hatched a RWPA that had similar eyes but I think it was just a weird random thing. She always looked like she had crossed eyes to me. I didn't ever breed her though.

interesting, it does look like an eclipse just with both rear shaded eyes...hmmmmm

seems like if it affected the vision would have been obvious by now...
