Never had one poop in the water dish. They do poop in the mealie dish sometimes and that gets annoying lol

In every single gecko cage that I have with a hammock, at least one poops in the hammock. I'm just grateful that my beardie doesn't poop in her hammock.

Ugh when they poop in their food dish is the worst. There are still feeders in it and they are basically spoiled and its just a mess. At least when they poop in their water dish its a simple wash down with a bleach solution and its back in the tub. Not all the gross scraping and ugh.

What about the calcium dish...I just got one of those yesterday...these animals have no concern for personal hygiene! I find that most of mine don't do that "poop in the same place all the time" thing. Some do but most don't.

Maybe potty training is in order...they poo in the right spot and a big fat waxworm drops from a dispenser.

The calcium dish is what gets us the most too! Water is changed out to a new container every other day regardless, and if they poop in it; immediately..

Food is the same as far as the dish.. but the calcium is expensive and just seems pointless..

We agree with others in that changing the position of those items fixes the issue generally..

I personally like it when they poop ON the hides.. it's easier to clean.. in their hides is another story..

I am having more trouble with my banded geckos than with the leos. I have a special tile just for them to poop on and they hit it about half the time. I even have a special hide with another tile for them to poop on so they can go in the hide.

My AZ banded(marcia's line) go everywhere but in a corner. They are so cute that I just deal with it.

6 out of 9 of my geckos poop on top of their humid hide; as some of you may know, I have a little towel on top of their humid hides to keep it shady for them, they must like it soft, and so prefer to poop on the towel!! Now, I have layers of toilet paper on top of the towel, but sometimes, they'll still choose to avoid the toilet paper and poop directly on the towel!

I also have one male that randomly poops on 2 sides of his tanks, so I can't put toilet paper in a poop corner for easy cleaning...

I went with mealworm dish pooper, if they do poop in the mealworms dish, and the mealworms start to eat it, then lthe geckoe ats it before you take the poop and mealworms out, everything that just came out ofthe gecko is now back in, paracites, bacteria, etc..

Both of mine act litter trained, both share the same corner. I put a 6" tile there so I can just pop the tile and wash that off, and put it back.

i would just keep the container their as a toilet and put in another mealie container somewhere else, if that works they are litter box trained !!!

thankfully,maggie has picked one spot in her cage that she poops. It is right in the front between her water bowl and one of the hides.

water dish poopers as if not cleaned out fast the water becomes real nasty and the lizards still drink from it whereas in the mealy dish it dries and they can eat around it
