We always have lots of little Mediterranean geckos around but we hardly ever see tree frogs, just toads. So it was a special treat to see both in the same spot!

Mel & Keith - we have very similar (perhaps the same?) tree frogs way up here in Wisconsin. Ours are still hibernating though :(

Thats Cool! We have box turtles and toads (GALORE) up here.

My roommate saw an albino skunk last night, and we saw a dead Fisher Cat this past weekend ;)

Texas may rule, but there aren't any Sierra Mountains:

Great pictures, everyone! :)

Jeanne - I would love to find box turtles!!

I don't seem to have much in the way of pictures of the cool things I've found around our house. My favorite was a kingsnake. A very large gopher snake startled me in our overgrown veggie garden a few years ago - Love to see those in my yard!! ;) Right now is treefrog breeding season. Haven't seen any, but you sure can hear them!

Dang! I was trying to remember the last time that I even saw a garter snake here in WI, and I'm pretty sure it was 9-10 years ago this one time at church camp.

(Marcia & Kelli - Those pictures are NOT helping me with my moving decision. Couldn't you post some pictures of traffic jams, landslides or smog? lol)

you are right no redwoods here

no siera nevadas but we have the beginings to the rocky mountains here.
snow skiing is just within a day
the have wonderful beaches with great fishing and you can drive your car on the beach and drink beer :D
we got wine country up north
ppffttt yosemite, just a buncha trees
and the golden gate bridge, its a bridge, see it once and the novelty was worn off
we have huge caves and caverns
every type of terrain you can think of. texas has it all and no earthquakes and if ya fart you do not have to worry about offending someone.
