Agreed. The technician that cleaned my carpets had some 'extra' carpet deodorizer in the pre-treat solution he was using, and it's usually a hefty extra charge. He let me have it for free. The wierd thing is, that as he was spraying it all over the carpets, the thought went through my mind that it HAD to be safe, because people have dogs and cats that walk on carpets. If only I had acted on my fleeting red-flag that went up in my head. The company should have some sort of warning that the stuff is not safe for pets.
I will call tomorrow and request the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for every chemical they used on my carpets, and let them know what happened to my babies. I don't care about any refund... I only care that they know that this happened, and it is not safe! The guy that was here was a genuine animal lover, and was very fascinated with my geckos. It wasn't his fault. I am only concerned for the future safety of ANY animal that comes in contact with whatever they used on my carpets.
I am worried for my dogs now. I have every window in the house open and fans blowing the inside air OUT of the windows. My female fat-tails and N. wheeleri were also on bottom racks, and one of them was very lethargic when I checked on her. She seems to be acting fairly normal now. I am afraid of what I might wake up to in the morning.
I am only sharing this with all of you to prevent this from happening again. My heart is broken, and I am sick to my stomach with grief. My poor little babies...
