I handle them every chance I get...The first thing I do is to wet my finger when I slowly put it in their home and very slowly to their noses..They lick and start associating it right away with a drink. Very careful at first (keeping my hand in the tank in case they want off) I ease my fingers toward them and as they back up, I keep slowly moving it till they have no other choice but to move onto the top on my hand. After a few different days of doing this I remove them while on the top of my hand. I gently tuck them next to my body. I never force them to get off my hand onto my shirt until it's their choice. Once they choose to go to your shirt it's less likely they will dash around.....After that its just a matter of repeating the process until they will climb all over you with confidence. They tend to want to climb higher most of the time, but most stop when they reach my shoulder. There will always be some that get so used to you they venture to new heights. (But I think at that point of trust it would not be a problem to just move it to the head. It will most likely like it up high) They have no problem hanging on to most anything, so you will get to trust their ability to "hang in there too." When your worry about them falling decreases the ride is less stressful on you. It will take a little time but you will succeed
at it. I believe these little guys and gals are very bright. Most are curious to
take on new things.....I do have a couple that are (mellows) content not to explore....so their ride is just me putting them on my shoulder.
.......Take care. HJ
