...Mack Snow Patternless Rainwater Albino Enigma aka Aurora?

I bought a male Aurora. Here he is (pictures were taken few hours after arrival):

In his shipping container

Come out and play :)

auro3.jpg

Both his eyes are like the one shown in the picture i.e. no enigma eyes!

I can detect these genes by just examining his appearance:
Mack Snow
Murphy's Patternless
Albino (Rainwater)

But not the enigma. He doesn't look nor move like one. It has been more than a week since his arrival. And I kept researching and testing his behavior (I kept bugging him until he was pissed most of the time LOL!) without any success. I do have some enigmas that do not wobble walk or display any other enigma behavior but I can still detect the traits via their external appearance (eye colors etc.).

So here is my question - is it a must for auroras to have the "enigma eyes"? And do some of you have "similar" looking auroras like mine?

There's only one thing I haven't done i.e. that is to test breed him. But by then, if it's not an enigma, I would have easily wasted a few more months just to test, search for another one and start to breed again.

Any replies will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Even if its not enigma still a great looking animal. Iam not a enigma expert but the eyes dont show any of the enigma orange coloration you typically find. If you payed top dollar id question the breeder maybe it was a mislabeled. I really like the white geckos tho, Iam working on super raptors and snow embers next year.

just so i know? how are you guys spotting the mack snow in this?

Id say pretty hard to. One of the parents was probally a Super snow and knowing the parents is the only sure way. I havent seen too many Patty albinos. I have 3 Mack snow patty albinos. Id say there yellow coloration compaired to a orange would be the main visual queue but not 100%.

To me it looks like a mack snow rainwater albino. There is not a hint of enigma in that eye shot.

You mean those morphs with patty right? ;)

Anyway, the breeder seems confident and 100% guarantee his animal's genetic. He stated that it hatched out completely patternless and the parents were snow patty enigma het vegas (sire) + snow vegas patty (dam). So, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I will also test breed (with several females) the "aurora" just to be sure. Hoping to see at least one enigma in the process and only then I would be happy.

There's nothing wrong with this specimen except that if it's just a snow patty vegas albino, then I just bought one that's overpriced (not to mention the time I will waste). From where I come from, that's equivalent to 50% from the average monthly salary of an executive.

Wish me luck!

from his pairing then there is the chance of the Aurora, however there is also the snow patty rainwater... it would be hard to tell them apart if it wasnt for enigma doing what it does to the eyes. and the eyes here seem like youve got the snow patty rainwater, rather than the Aurora. Let us know if it turns out to be enigma.

This is why I think people need to post a couple pics of their leos for sale. 1) full body bird's eye view 2) head shot for eyes!!! I find myself squinting a lot at many of the websites out there and having to e-mail the breeder asking me to tell me what color the gecko's eyes are lol. Then again, it's always nice to just go to a show and see all the stock in person.

I'd say that animal does not have the enigma gene. But the only true way to tell would be to test breed.

Just so you guys know, prior to payment, I did ask whether that animal has enigma eyes or not because I could not detect any from the pictures given. He confirmed that it has enigma eyes. But until today I could not spot any. I must be VERY blind LOL!!!
