My dad doesn't really seem to care that much but my mum will always have some knid of dislike for reptiles. It took me 8 months to persuade her to let me have one crested gecko and her friends are consently looking at him through the glass normally saying something along the lines of 'I don't know how you can even love that thing.'
Which sort of hurts seeing as I love that crazy little gecko more than I've loved anything else before.
Oh well I just need to wait a decade before my mum allows me to move out 8)

both of my parents are like your mom

they think it is crazy and weird lol but they realize this is something i really love so they put up with it lol

my mom i can persuade easier than my dad but dad has final say so i really have to kiss up to him lol
but i almost always win(except for the snakes :(
and also wonder how i am ever going to live on my own unless i buy a house(b/c no apartment will take me with all the animals i have lol)

the rest of my family members just think i am crazy but they are not really hard on me or anything usually just make fun of me lol

my parents will not allow snakes either which sucks b/c i really want one i will have to wait until i can afford a place of my own

My mother refuses to let me get a snake, fine with anything that has legs though. Her brother hid snakes in her bed when she was young so she hates them; sounds like something she needs to take up with him, not the snakes :main_rolleyes:. She's just so stubborn about it we can't even discuss the topic like mature adults and if I try to bring it up she starts saying how the gecko is such a hassle, the very same gecko she oohs and aahs over whenever he's out.

My dad doesn't care. They're "my animals" and he just doesn't care too much about what I do in general.

My mother, on the other hand, has spent the last few weeks looking at reptiles online and constantly asking me if I'm "getting an *insert reptile/morph here*"

My mom doesn't mind me owning reptiles, and she even thinks my geckos are cute. She won't touch them though, but she will do me favors like changing the water and checking temps if I'm not home, and picking up crickets or mealworms if I'm running low. As for other reptiles, she's fine with whatever I get as long as it's not a snake and I do my "homework" before buying it. Those rules are fine by me. As much as I'd like a snake, this is her house and she let's me keep anything else.

My dad doesn't seem to care one way or another, but does offer to help out on occasion. He's even recently gave me money when I brought up the fact that I'm going to a reptile expo next month. He doesn't currently own any reptiles, but when I was younger he was the one to bring home turtles, frogs, and anoles for me and help me take care of them.

Mum and Dad (seeing as i live with them) are both fine with them, infact my mom actually wishes my snakes and leos were hers, however my dad is just ok with it does not mind looking after them when i am away.

So they are all in the smallest room of the house (my room) and im still finding more spaces to put the little cuties!

My mother refers to my leos as "those things" and rolls her eyes when I bring another home. She harps on me for taking the sick ones to the vet saying "they're just lizards, you don't have that money to spend" and blah blah blah..

She doesn't have to touch them, or even see them, so she has no real room to complain.

My father thinks they're cool and is very supportive of the hobby. He's always pretty excited when I bring a new one home :)

every time my dad comes to the house he looks into kinky's (green tree python) enclosure as he is walking by says s.o.b but the entire word and just keeps walking

i mean kinky is about 7 or more years old and we have lived in this house with kinky in this same spot for nearly three years and EVERY TIME my father says the same thing. my father comes to the house often, so its not like my dad has seen kinky only a couple of times, he has seen him MANY times
