Again, this is where proper husbandry (or lack there of) comes into play... If you offer humidified hide spots, there will be no issues with shedding... If leos are not provided the humid hides in a paper towel cage, they will have problems shedding especially on the feet...
All of the arguments presented against sand can easily be attributed to improper husbandry and not the sand itself...
