My mom cooked loosemeats with fried garlic potatoes and brussle sprouts. She toasted the buns and melted cheese on them. Tasty!!!

Ahhhh, Iowa - home of the "loose meat" sandwich. Growing up in Illinois they were called Maid Rites (and I've been told one is opening in Kansas City - which warrants the happy banana dance  )

Maid Rites, hmmm! This most likely eliminates roadkill and squirrels, which is what I was thinking loosemeats may have been....probably are something more like Spam? :main_laugh:

Haha, it's just ground up hamburger on a bun with seasonings.

Pretty much a staple here in Iowa haha. I grew up on them.

I've never heard of "Maid Rites" before. We sometimes call loosemeats "Tasties."

I just went to costco, trader joes, and safeway to get enough food for the next month....

I just ate a yummy honey baked ham and swiss sandwich! :)

Tonight I'm cooking some beef stew, it's been chilly here in Cali this week. yum yum yum!

We had sloppy joes and french fries. And what exactly are sloppy joes without sauce? I personally think the sauce makes the sandwich.

I had a cheese steak with onions, peppers and jalapenos for lunch and am eating my 7th chicken drumstick right now. Dessert is a muscle relaxer and a bloody mary for my slipped L2 vertebrae:main_thumbsup:
