Thank you all for the kind comments on my girl. :)

I generally don't take things personally on forums, but this just hit me. Myself, being teased from a child to an adult about weight issues, having eating disorders, it really rubs me wrong when I hear comments about weight (even in person when the person has a joking tone) - even if it is about my gecko and not me personally. It just makes me sad and defensive.

After thinking about it, I know the comments weren't meant to hurt, but they did, I can't help that they did. I just wish I would have brushed it off and I do feel bad for starting this thread now. I don't know, I'm just a sad, nutcase.

I will try to end this on a lighter note...

Don't feel bad about starting the thread, at least you were honest and got it off your chest. :) I actually have a mack snow albino that I haven't posted on here because she gains most of her weight in her belly vs. tail and looks like a chubster and I didn't want anyone to call me out lol!

Well, as long as we're showing photos of plus-size leos, I must show mine as well...Pita has quite a bit of a tummy on her, and she's not gravid in this picture.

I think your over reacting a bit, Shes got a bigger mid section but she is only 45 grams, so id say shes not fat at all.

Who cares what other people think! You did a fantastic job and she is BEAUTIFUL. I have who has a nice full plump belly, actually Ginger from Kristi... and she is beautiful and healthy! Flaunt your girls stuff you earned that.. A+ you did a great job. :D

Me and my chubby geckos.

I think I've missed your previous post, but Gus looks great to me. I prefer my geckos have a bit more meat on them. If someone says my geckos are chubby, I'll take that as a compliment. :)

I agree with this. I think your gecko looks great.

Here you go, someone commented that I have the world's first spherical gecko when I showed this pic. :)

**I did not stuff her with food, she only eats 2-3 supers per WEEK (tried switching her to crickets or roaches, she either ignores them or will spit them out after the first bite).

Bonnie, that's quite the gecko! It's funny you mention the non-stuffing-with-food. I have some that are close to 90g (Solis, Loki, Dagda, Freya) who only eat once or twice a week.

So much for dieting. :p

Did I mention I looove my curvy geckos?

This reminds me of the mad tv abercrombie and fitch vs Lane Bryant lol

Seriously, If any kind of negative comments were made, I would take it as a concern for the leos health. Obesity in reptiles causes just as many problems for them as it does for humans. Fatty liver killls many a herp. I doubt very seriously anyone meant it as a negative.

Hey there, I have just come back on here (after a looong essay). I feel really horrid now because i wouldnt have agreed with the comment if i thought it was malcious. If anyone was to cause offense to my leo i probably would have reacted similarly. When i replied there was only one comment i guess stuff escalted while i was gone. Im sorry your feelings were hurt. I hope you can continue to love GF like I still do :)

There is no need to take any personal offense on this forum. Worst case scenario someone called your gecko fat. I mean is that really something to get so upset about that you lose interest in the forums? Your gecko looks very nice, but does have a big belly. I have read of multiple people in here making fun of there own leos because they need a diet or something. Take it as a grain of salt and just enjoy all the POSITIVE things that this forum has to offer.
