WOW! Some GREAT games over the weekend. I never thought I'd see myself rooting for the Cowboys, but thanks for the helping hand Tony and Co.! :main_thumbsup:

And how about the Colts wooping the living daylights outta the Ravens? And the Patriots win in the last minutes of their game to the same team? If that doesn't say something as to who the better team is, I don't know! It looked to me like NE got away with a few interference calls in their game against the Steelers. Luck seems to have more to do with their record thus far than their level of play, IMO! :main_thumbsdown:

It's called any given Sunday.

Last week the Ravens D was on their game and I belive the Ravens only turned the ball over once. This week they (Ravens) gave up 4-5 turnovers, which resulted in 21 points coming on 2 plays or less each time. The Ravens were also short their so-called best DB's. Put Brady/Moss in the same position and see how quickly they would have smelled fresh blood too.

Honestly I think both teams are great (Patriots/Colts). But when they played the Ravens, the Ravens were Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. I don't think it's fair compare the two teams with their games respectively against the Ravens. Go with their head-to-head match up and that's who had the better team that "day".

As much as I hate to say it, I think the final four teams might be Greenbay, Dallas, Patriots and Indianapolis. I wouldn't count out Greenbay since they might be the sleeper pick to win it all. They haven't gotten as much publicity as the other teams so watch out.

If there's one QB in the NFL that always finds a way to win, it's Favre. I don't personally like the guy, but that statement is certainly the truth.

And I'll also say that next season I expect the Vikings to steam-roll through the NFL. I think they're more than due a bowl win! :main_yes:

green bay is going to win the superbowl and favre will retire on top
new england is finishing the regular season 16-0

the nfl is all about story-lines now. here's the three most obvious ones of the last few years...

XXXVI: post 9/11 patriotism, it only made sense for the patriots to win it all (other choices would have been the giants or jets since they're ny teams)

XL: jerome bettis wins the superbowl in his hometown and retires on top.

XLI: peyton manning gets the monkey off his back and finally beats new england in the playoffs. first matchup of two black head coaches in the superbowl.

Well, the Bears had a dissapointing season. Next year will show a totally different team on offense and defense.

The playoffs will be interesting though. There are many stories. Will Favre go out on top? Will The Patriots win it all? Will Romo come through this year? Let the games begin.:)

I certainly would like Dallas to win it all, but the offense needs to get back on track for that to happen, granted injuries and blah hurt a team but still. I want the Jags to take it all on the AFC side of the ball though. They are the only team I really like in the AFC aside from a few others but who knows.

Don't get me wrong I bleed Silver and Blue but I think the Boys are one season away from being "The" team to beat.

steelers got hosed. wonderful officiating, great playcalling, no stupid mistakes...

they could have won that game by double digits if 2 or 3 plays/calls went the other way.

The Steelers should have never scored that last touch down. You could clearly see Ward pulling on the defenders face mask. Steelers would have turned the ball over on downs. I don't see how they got hosed. Every team gets good and bad calls, hopefully they don't decide the outcome of the game like that one nearly did. Both teams had a bit of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde syndrome. Jag's were great in the first half and the Steelers stunk. Then they did a roll reversal for the second half of the game. I don't recall every play of the game but I think it was called fairly, except for the pass interference call on the Jag's defender. But hey even the refs are human and can't see the the plays from multiple angles like we do sitting at home.

hines did have the guy's facemask, no argument from me on that one, but then on the made 2 point conversion they pull a holding call out of nowhere and take the 2 points that were the difference in the game off the board.

i'm more frustrated by the ultra-conservative playcalling on the steelers last "drive" run, run, 3rd and 6, qb sweep!?!?!?!?!?!

oh and on garrard's scramble to put them in field goal range to win it, practically every steelers defender was being held (not that they weren't being held all game, james harrison was getting mugged every time he pass rushed with no calls ever)

Greg, some one is being held on virtually every down played in the NFL. So holding call arguments are meaningless if you ask me. It's the blatant holds that are missed that are ridiculous. You have to remember the ref's try to let the guys play ball.

There was a penalty in one of the games that was just down right wrong to call. I forget if it was a kick off or a int. But a player tried to dive and tackle the guy with the ball, but he missed. At the same time he wound up taking out one of the players on the other team (need I point out that at this time they are trailing the play). They called it an illegal block!! I couldn't believe it. It was almost as bad as the illegal block that was called in the Steelers/Seahawks Super Bowl.

it was an int return this past game, roethlisberger went to take out mathis' legs and ended up getting one of the blockers, seems like a dumb rule since it can only be called on special teams or an int return anyway...

as for the holds, there were at least 4 blatant ones on garrard's 4th down scramble:

polamalu coming around the edge gets headlocked, harrison gets his shoulderpads grabbed just as garrard is coming within arms reach, keisel is about to lunge from his knees to get a swipe at garrard's feet and gets clotheslined, fat casey hampton gets spun around and taken down and on the backside of the play it's either foote or farrior that gets arm barred as well...

As far as I'm concerned that play is irrelevant, because the Steelers should not have scored that last touchdown. Remeber Ward pulling on the defenders face mask and then being awarded pass interference, that was on 4th down. So since the pass was incomplete the Steelers would have turned the ball over on downs. YouTube is blocked on my computer here at work so I can't watch the play.

Im a Bears fan and they sucked this year but I am rooting for the Seahawks in the playoffs.

It would be awesome if the Packers and and Giants square off and the Chargers and Jaguars duke it out in the AFC. I'm not a Cowboys fan and I'm kinda tired of the Patriots. It would be nice if the Jaguars made it to the superbowl.:D

I will say this though, whoever makes it to the Superbowl, the AFC will take it.
