Does anyone have any info or photos on the progress of this morph??? Have the exact genetics been sorted out??? It has been atleast 3 seasons since its release and I have not seen a thing on them...

I obviously don't have anything on them, but's it's funny you should mention them and how long they've been around. Just for comparison, we're only in the fourth enigma season, everybody and his brother has one and you can get one for $50. What's up with the black pearls?

Dominate morph compared to a recessive morph, maybe???

I re-read my response and thought it was a bit too matter of fact, especially coming from me who's in their first breeding season. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it, Thad.

Kevin, I probabally come across wrong :) I don't think they know the exact genetics but if it was a co-dominant morph I think they should know after three season.... but if it was recesive I can see it taking possibly three seasons to figure out. I don't know if Urban has figured it out yet???

The great thing about recessive morphs is that they hold thier value longer because of the lower odds of producing one. Not to mention you need two geckos with at least the het trait.

Hopefully we will all know soon!

It's a co-dom, according the website. AND it sounds like from the website that Conrad had at least begun to prove it out if not having fully done so. AND the website info was written in 2008...

You'd think that if anybody bought a female in 2008, they'd have had babies last year and more this year. Mysterious...

I'm neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but if they look like normals when they grow out, there's gonna be a lot of folks ticked off at TUG. They would have to know. Hopefully they will mix well with other morphs.

So is it really a different morph, or just the product of good marketing?

It has different genetics, but the appearance looks like Normals as adults. They hatch out all black, though. It is thought to be a recessive morph as far as I know.

I would doubt it’s all just a hoax… I would say that there are probably some exceptional ones, and then a few who lack the black coloration. The pictures on TUG’s site show some good examples and I have a hard time believing that they’d risk their reputation to sell 7 geckos…

While I agree with what you say here, selling 7 geckos at about $3000 each balances out to more than most breeders make in a season from what I've seen.

For the most part, people are selling their Leo's for a price that means people will take care of them and not take them for granted, not just sell them to make money.

I'd love to eventually end up with a collection that I can use to turn a profit, but at the moment, I'm more interested in giving my pets a wonderful home so they'll stick around as long as possible.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but are you sure about that?

Do you have any separate info on them, since obviously the site selling them is going to make them as 'rare' as possible?
