Kansas City has very clean tap water, and so it's no problem for people or animals to drink it. I've never given any of my animals bottled water or anything and I've never had any problems. I guess it just depends where you live!

Tap water because it is relatively clean and I haven't had any problems with my geckos while using it either.

I use distilled water. San Diego's water, I won't even drink it myself. If I don't have distilled, I use filtered from the water store here since I drink it myself. Pretty cheap, $2 for 5 gallons.

Actually Steve, many many things in every state are known to cause cancer, but in California, state health laws require businesses post a sign anywhere where people many be exposed. For example, in california you will always find one of those signs in parking garages because car exaust is known to cause cancer. It's not our state that is cancerous!!!!!!!!!! Don't you wish your state told you when you are exposed to cancer causing agents?

haha california laws:main_no:

Bottled water user here. As an ex-resident of California, bottled water was preferable due to the extreme mineral content found in the water. Now, as a Gulfport resident, I used bottled water because of the natural water's predisposition to grow mystery cultures of bacteria. (Boil water notices, anyone?)

Since I wouldnt drink tap H20 myslef, I wouldnt give it to my gecko. I have plenty of bottled H20 on hand, so thats what I use.

NEVER used distilled. It will leach vitamins and minerals from you and your gecko! It also can act as a solvent for the salts in body organs.

blackle.com it!

I use Tap, Distilled, and RO water.

For the tap water I use exo-terra's calcium water conditioner to treat the water.

I use RO in my automatic misting system so my crested geckos get RO water and their food is also prepared with RO. The RO is nothing more than filtered tap water, but I require it so that the nozzles do not plug up.

I only get distilled water when I am unable to get RO. But after a discussion on another forum the whole "do not use distilled water because it will leach the minerals out of your body debate". The articles describing how the water pulls the minerals out of the body, were not even correct in the terminology used to explain the process. That and as we do not receive a lot of our minerals from our drinking water and from our diet, if it does indeed pull some minerals from our body it should not be an issue with a proper diet, as our diet is what provides us and our pets with the nutrients.

I use bottled water. I usually buy the Nestle brand because it's always on sale for $2.99 for a case at the grocery store. I won't drink the tap water, so I won't give it to my herps either.

I use tap water. Our tap water is quite good here, and I drink it and give it to my kids too. I also figure the small amount of chlorine in the water helps keep nasties from growing in the water dish.
