I have over eighty Leos and I would trade them like baseball cards if not for parasites so I say yes to gecko or cash entry.I do think cash would be more practical though both for availability and for the risk spreading parasites. If they should not be traded then they should not be sold but is it "Gecko Slavery" to remove them from their habitat only to pamper them surround them with gecko concubines and extend their natural lifespan. Then you can sign me up for that too should I return as a Leopard Gecko in my next life !!

I'd be game for it. Sounds fun, and a good way for somebody to get a nice gecko. Just for leos, though????

site sponsors, gecko forums staff websites (located down at the bottom of the page) and the banner ad advertisers. so spend it on what those people have available.

I like the idea of putting in $20 or so each, but are there any site sponsors, gecko forums staff websites or banner ad advertisers that are located in, or ship for a reasonable price to Canada? If I could use it at TUG if I won, I'd totally be in, but that would kinda defeat the purpose I guess eh?

If this does happen I feel that it should be cash entry and any money left over after buying the gecko of choice should either go to keeping this FREE site running or go to an organization like USARK...

Thats just my opinion...

The way it would work is.
To enter you would offer up a gecko to sell in the forum of an auction
Everyone who enters would post auction the same day and auction would all end at the same time.
When geckos are paid for money will be paid to Kelli.
All people who enter will have their name put into a lottery and who ever is drawn as the winner can choose a gecko for kelli to purchase for them with all the money that comes from all auctions.
If enought people are interested this will give somone who may not have the chance to own that special high end gecko to recieve somthing really special for putting up a gecko of lesser value.
All rules would have to be worked out at this time the only set rules are #1 Must be 18 years of age or older to play, #2 Winning gecko must be purchased from a site sponsor

Would that rule us Canadians out.??

I am all for a 20.00 raffle and I agree with Gregg. That would be the best idea as it wouldn't really be gambling since some of everyones money will go to support a good cause. Make sure to put a banner on the main page so I know when its going down

Thats a Great Idea, Say after everyone signs up there is (Random Number) $200. There could be a set percentage, say 20%, would go to this site and the other 80% would go to the winner.

JMG does'nt ship to canada.I asked. They did it once for a show and thats it !!

Cut and pasted from their page:

April through November:
We are now offering a monthly shipment to Canada during the months of April through November. Purchase a minimum of $500 worth of reptiles and get your order shipped for $100. Or, buy 5 geckos or less totaling $1500 and get your order shipped free!! Please contact us for details regarding this option.

December through March:
During these months, Canada deliveries are restricted to reptile show pick ups (as detailed below), or airport to airport delivery due to weather. Please call for a price quote during these months.

OK you guys, since we have such a positive response I am willing to give this a try. The only thing is that I really just don't have the time to coordinate it. If you can get the details figured out and someone else is willing to be in charge of it, and everyone agrees to that, I say let's go for it! We can maybe plan on doing it twice a year, maybe once in the spring and once in the fall.
