The story of Geirröd is told in Þórsdrápa. Loki, while flying as a hawk, was captured by Geirröd. Because he hated Thor, Geirröd demanded that Loki bring his enemy to Geirröd's castle without his magic belt and hammer. Loki agreed to lead Thor to the trap. On the way to Geirröd's castle, Loki and Thor stopped at the home of Grid, a giantess. She waited until Loki left the room, then told Thor what was happening and gave him her iron gloves and magical belt and staff. Thor killed Geirröd, followed by all other frost giants he could find, including Geirrod's daughters, Gjalp and Greip.
Thanks all. We'd like to make our decision this week so let us know if you have any other ideas on the name.
We are adding another surprise bonus to the winner.......
I think Falkor would be a great name for him. Falkor is off of the Neverending Story. He is the Dragon that Atreyu rode on, actualy the luckdragon. I have had that movie stuck in my head lately trying to figure out the names of the charactors. I'm going to have to rent that movie soon.
After looking at his head more and the colors of his body, Cornbread would be a good fit for him too =D
I only mention this because the wife cooked some cornbread for dinner tonight and I happened to read this thread again while she was cooking it and saw the resemblance in the head and what she was cooking, lol!
